Independent products, a company I co-founded, and the commercial work that came before them.
01 / INDEPENDENT PRODUCT
Rost
Events without the friction.
A sports community platform connecting players with hosts. Players can RSVP without an account, hosts manage recurring schedules and attendance, and the aim is to bring sign-ups straight into WhatsApp and other group chats, with no separate app.
A genetic counselling service helping families navigate genetic testing and reproductive risks, with services in Cantonese, Mandarin, and English. I co-founded GeneFlou and developed its website.
Before GeneFlou and Rost, I was a frontend developer at HSBC, Aurora Cannabis, and Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers. I built customer-facing websites and e-commerce features, working with clients to understand their needs and define business requirements.
Earlier, as a frontend developer at Accenture Interactive (now Accenture Song), I built websites, React Native mobile apps, and e-commerce experiences. Much of that work was for Fortune 500 companies, and my clients also included a major retail bank, an international airline, a Japanese skincare brand, and startups. Those clients and project details are confidential, so I can’t name them or show the work publicly.
Light, movement, and the details that make a place feel like itself.

The person behind the work.
CHRISTOPHER J. CHAN
I’m a developer and co-founder of GeneFlou. My work spans independent products and commercial projects, with a focus on building things people can use. My background in economics, sociology, and biopsychology shapes how I think about the people using them.
Photography makes me pay attention. Badminton, tennis, and bowling keep me learning. I enjoy understanding how something works, then seeing how far I can take it.
